Dąmbski Palace in Torun, Poland
It was an immense amount of work that challenged almost all areas of our Team, from designing the models, studying and designing the molds, creating the metal parts, glazing , going through the arrangement of problems in the building and solving the transportation issues. Everything, from a to z, managed internally by the Team, all companies in our territory, Veneto between the provinces of Venice and Treviso within a radius of 20 km.
Our Journey in Torun begins in February where we go to learn more about Nicholas Copernicus and his Birthplace.
And then the first visit to the Palace
Where we saw the lighting situation, in the large halls
.... in the stairs.....
.... in Reception
And in the entrance hallway...and it was the first opportunity to make the shy acquaintance with who had invited us by asking for help in improving the building.
And immediately it was an opportunity to get to know each other better with a wonderful dinner, beginning to realize how much our cultures and territories had in common.....we were meeting new friends....
But immediately the next day at work, trying to figure out together with new friends how to think about a dream
... and then try to realize it
... to give luster to a building that deserves the most
And always from a dinner was born the idea of the Work...Fides et Ratio...from the mind of Wojtek...brought immediately to paper....
...and that's how the ideas, based on history, that accumulate our territories begin to develop....
...with early sketches and models for a work of art....
..beginning a journey of developing ideas together with our new friends....and after a wonderful dinner and a goodbye we return home....to study ideas together with the whole Team
Poland also quickly began to develop the first scale model of the work Fides et Ratio...
Wojtek with extreme skill creates a 3-D model
... glass parts are also studied in the model
And in a very short time in our new friends fly to Italy......
And so a delegation from the region and their representatives in Brouxelles land in Venice
Immediately we start working on the designs of the mirrors....
Let's start visiting the various Team....... furnaces.
And understand the processing techniques to be used for the project
....let's-start-sharing-glass-knowledge.....
At the same time we compare ourselves with those on the Team who will develop the metals of the Fides et Ratio Work.
Without forgetting, with a good dinner, to share the pleasures of our Venetian cuisine....
And given the time of year, introduce Our Friends to a gift from our land: Radicchio di Treviso, a specialty of this very season
....without missing a good Wine!!!
The next day back to work, among the beautiful canals of Venice to reach another Team site in Murano....
...here with Nicola we begin to put down the bases for the chandeliers for the big rooms
Let's produce some parts together to understand the finishes...
We study how to light and what shape to give the chandelier elements
With exchanges of ideas we try to develop a dream to reality
They check the shapes of the elements, decide the heights of the chandeliers...
We begin to create and edit elements together, listening to the Marshall's and Jarolsaw advice....
And after so much work, you can't miss a good lunch in one of Murano's best restaurants, with good food and good wine, always in company and friendship
In the afternoon we run to Treviso, with a brief institutional meeting where the mayor opens the doors of the city's most historic building for us...
But in Treviso we are to work on the mirrors, where the Governor explains how he wants the decorations and tells Marco the patterns he would like made
And late in the afternoon the appearance of the five mirrors is outlined....
To refresh minds, a tour of Treviso's historic pubs is a must.
We then finished the evening with a wonderful dinner.
The next day, in the morning, our new friends with the whole Polish delegation return home....
..By now they, too, delineate themselves as the Venetian Chandelier Team...a symbiosis of two distant but now very close territories
Despite the jovial moments in Torun, no time is wasted, everyone immediately is seriously focused on developing this huge project in a very short time, and in a few days already models of the mirrors are being tested
While here at a great pace the production of all the elements is accelerated
Performing the grinding as if to reproduce the design requested by the Marshall
Using one-to-one scale drawings...
Assessing processing issues
...to then proceed with implementation and verification...
Any imperfections are checked
Meanwhile, work begins in the furnaces to develop parts of the work
Mold materials are being studied pending a new meeting to outline solutions for issues encountered
And so we find ourselves again
...with the first flashes of spring.
Nature's energy in full bloom helps us move forward in our work....
Without giving up moments of relaxation in the fantastic views of our region...
Preparing the spirit for work
..but come on!!! You have to go to work in Murano....
...okay come on let's go.....
And so the chandeliers begin to take shape
Quality is controlled
It prepares and tests the electrical system
And it is verified that everything follows the design studied on paper....
.....naturally with well-deserved Relaxation breaks.....
To then immediately dive into production control
The shape of the larger chandeliers is also beginning to emerge
....e feeling that the realization of a dream in a very short period of time turns out to be possible...
Then in the evening there is no shortage of meetings (at Dinner!!!) to organize the part of the Team that will be in charge of the installation, a very important phase of our services and always planned from the beginning so that there are no surprises...although there are never any shortages....
...as there is no shortage of time to visit Mirano by night, another town, a little pearl of our Territory
...but for our now dear Friend it is time to return to the homeland....
Flying to Torun to report the progress of the work...
...but there is no standing still here, and part of the Team begins to bring to life the parts of the Fides Et Ratio Work...
...under the watchful gaze of those who by now have embodied this noble Art of ours under their skin and have been able to prepare the new generations...
Who with dedication and pride focus their fullest attention on each and every component of the sculpture
Thus the sons pour out the knowledge, secrets and spirits inherited from their father, immortalizing them in a work of art ...
And this also goes through the making of the metal frame....
That in turn is beginning to take shape....
By studying how to place each individual glass element...
...in a steel structure that is beginning to show its full majesty (7 meters)
And here, too, artisan lability of our Team members, professionals in steel processing, pour all their knowledge, the fruit of a lifetime of sacrifice...
Which allow solving any technical problem with optimal solutions…
And Opera Fides Et Ratio begins to rise " to take flight" with the help of all
It is checked that the scale model...
...be replicated in the final full-size model
And it is also at this stage that the part that will illuminate the Opera, under the supervision of its creator Wojtek...., begins to be outlined.
To which there is also no shortage of time, amidst intense moments of work, to celebrate the birthdays of new friends in our area...
...and then indulge in a good seafood dinner....
And then it's back to Torun....
Where furniture arrangements begin to be created in the Palace..
